Resize an Image Online (Width & Height)

This tool resizes an image to exactly the numbers you type: width and height are set separately and the picture is scaled with high-quality resampling. It is useful for building a blog thumbnail, shrinking a large phone photo before sending it, or fitting an image into a signup form. If you want to preserve the original aspect ratio, enter proportional numbers yourself; the tool does not lock the ratio. The photo never leaves your device and the result is ready to download immediately.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. 1

Drop the image into the box.

  2. 2

Type the target width and height in pixels (for example 800 by 600).

  3. 3

Check the preview and download it; the before and after sizes are shown too.

Frequently asked questions

Is the aspect ratio preserved?

Not automatically. To avoid stretching, work out the height from the original ratio: new height = new width × original height ÷ original width.

Does enlarging improve quality?

No. Upscaling invents pixels and softens the image; this tool is meant for shrinking. Serious enlargement needs an AI upscaler.

What format is the output?

JPG and WebP keep their input format. A PNG input is saved as JPEG, so use the convert tool when you need transparency.
