Strong Random Password Generator

This generator uses the browser’s cryptographic random source (crypto.getRandomValues), not Math.random, so the output cannot be predicted. Set the length anywhere from 6 to 64 characters and switch each character class on or off. Ambiguous glyphs such as l, I, O, 0 and 1 are left out of the alphabet so the password is easy to type correctly. The strength bar fills from length and variety, and the generated password is never stored or sent anywhere.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. 1

Pick a length with the slider; use 16 characters or more for important accounts.

  2. 2

Tick the character classes you need; if a site rejects symbols, turn just that one off.

  3. 3

Press generate, copy the password and save it in your password manager right away.

Frequently asked questions

Are generated passwords stored or sent anywhere?

No. Generation happens entirely in your browser and no request leaves the page; everything is gone when you close the tab.

How random is it?

It uses crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s secure random source. That is suitable for passwords and keys and, unlike Math.random, has no predictable pattern.

How long should a password be?

16 characters across all four classes is enough for most accounts. Every four extra characters multiplies the search space; length matters more than looking complicated.
