Base64 Encode & Decode Online
Base64 represents arbitrary bytes with 64 text-safe characters, which is why it shows up inside JSON, HTTP headers and data URLs. This converter handles UTF-8 properly: Persian text encodes and decodes back unchanged instead of turning into question marks or broken glyphs. Remember that Base64 is not encryption - anyone can read it - so use real encryption when you need protection.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
How to use it
- 1
Put your text or Base64 string in the box.
- 2
Press Encode to turn text into Base64, or Decode for the other direction.
- 3
Copy the result from the output box; invalid Base64 input shows an error instead of broken text.
Frequently asked questions
Is Base64 encryption?
No, it is just an encoding. Anyone can decode it back to the original text; use AES or a real encryption tool when you need secrecy.
Why does Persian text break in some tools?
Because btoa only accepts Latin bytes. This tool converts to UTF-8 first, so non-Latin text survives the round trip.
Does it support files?
Text only in this version. For a file, paste its contents into the box or use the base64 command on your system.
