Calculate the Difference Between Two Dates

This tool measures the gap between two dates and shows it three ways: whole days, weeks plus remaining days, and months plus days. The maths is day based, so it ignores the clock and the time zone, and the order does not matter - you always get the absolute distance. It suits measuring a lease term, a project span, the gap between two exams or the number of days in a working range. Months are counted on the 30.4375-day average, so the month figure is approximate across longer spans; for an exact calendar breakdown, use the age tool or the Jalali converter.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.

Frequently asked questions

Does the order of the dates matter?

No. The tool always returns the absolute distance, so you can swap start and end and get the same answer.

Why is the month figure not exact?

Because calendar months run 28 to 31 days and have no fixed length. This tool uses a 30.4375-day average, which can be a few days off over long spans.

Can I enter Jalali dates?

The date field follows the browser calendar and takes Gregorian dates. Convert Jalali to Gregorian with the Jalali converter first.
