Online Countdown to a Date and Time
This countdown runs to any moment you choose: a project deadline, the start of a match, the new year, a product launch or the beginning of a holiday. Unlike the date difference tool, it counts hours and minutes too, updating every second. Four cards show days, hours, minutes and seconds separately, and a message appears when it reaches zero. The timing comes from your system clock, so a correctly set machine gives an accurate count. Keep the page open for the counter to keep running; closing the tab stops it.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
How to use it
- 1
Pick the target date and time in the field.
- 2
The day, hour, minute and second cards start counting immediately.
- 3
Change the field for a different target and the countdown recalculates.
Frequently asked questions
Does the countdown keep running if I close the page?
No, it runs in the browser and stops when the tab closes. The target is not saved, so you would set it again later.
What happens at zero?
The numbers are replaced by a finished message and the counter stops; it does not run backwards.
Is the timing based on my clock?
Yes, it reads your system clock and respects your local time zone. If the machine’s clock is wrong, the countdown will be too.
