Word, Character & Line Counter
This counter is for the moments when the exact size of a text matters: a 1500-word article limit, Google’s 90-character meta description, or a 280-character post. The numbers update on every keystroke and paste, and you get six of them: words, characters, characters without spaces, lines, sentences and estimated reading time at 200 words per minute. Words are counted on whitespace, so it behaves the same for English and Persian text.

Frequently asked questions
How is reading time calculated?
From an average of 200 words per minute, rounded up; the same estimate is used for non-English text. It never shows less than one minute.
Is the sentence count exact?
Sentences are counted on full stops, question marks and exclamation marks. Text without punctuation shows fewer sentences than it really has; word and character counts are always exact.
Is my text stored anywhere?
No. Counting happens in the browser and no request is sent; the text disappears when you close the page.
