Identify a Card’s Bank from Its Number

The first six digits of a bank card (its BIN) reveal which bank issued it. This tool matches those digits against a list of Iranian bank prefixes and shows the bank name, formatting the number in groups of four so it is easier to read. If you enter all sixteen digits it also runs the Luhn check, the same test that catches a mistyped or transposed digit. Remember that this only validates the number’s structure, not the card itself, and the card details are never sent anywhere because the whole lookup happens in the browser. The prefix list is not exhaustive, so a bank that is missing shows as unknown.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.

How to use it

  1. 1

Type the card number in Persian or Latin digits; dashes are not needed.

  2. 2

At six digits the bank name and prefix appear.

  3. 3

At sixteen digits the Luhn result appears too; a cross means the number was mistyped.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool send my card number to a server?

No. The prefix lookup runs entirely in the browser and no request carries the card number.

If the bank shows as unknown, is the card fake?

No. The prefix list is not exhaustive, so newer banks and less common prefixes are missing. Check the bank name on the card or in the bank’s app.

What does the Luhn check prove?

Only that the digits are structurally valid and contain no typical typing error. It does not confirm the card exists, is active, or belongs to anyone in particular.
